WHAT IS 21 DAYS OF PRAYER & FASTING?

Our 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting is an invitation to slow down, seek God, and realign our hearts with Him. It's one of the most powerful spiritual disciplines in the life of a believer. It is an intentional act of humility and surrender, where we deny our flesh what it desires so our spirit can receive what it truly needs. Through prayer and fasting, our minds are cleared, our hearts are purified, and we are positioned to hear the voice of the Lord more clearly.

PRAYER GUIDE

Follow along with our 21 Days of Prayer Guide as we seek God together. Each day includes a featured topic, scripture, a brief devotional, and a prayer to help guide your time with the Lord. It is our prayer that this guide will encourage your faith and be a blessing to you throughout these 21 Days.

"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer,
believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

Mark 11:24

"The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
He delivers them from all their troubles."

Psalm 34:17

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

PRAYER

If you ever get to a place in your life where you feel like something is missing, it’s probably a connection problem: you are disconnected
from God and too connected to the world. Prayer and fasting can have a powerful impact on setting your life back on track.

‍Prayer connects us to God.
The more time you spend with something or someone, the more confidence you build in it.
The same is true for God. The more time you spend with God, the more your faith in Him will grow.

FASTING

The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. It also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God and prepares our hearts for all the good things God desires to bring into our lives. Remember, your personal fast should present a level of challenge, but it is very important to know your body, your options, and, most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.

Complete Fast

In this type of fast, you drink only liquids, typically water with light juices as an option.

Partial Fast

This fast is sometimes called the “Jewish Fast” and involves abstaining from eating any type of food in the morning and afternoon. This can either correlate to specific times of the day, such as 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or from sunup to sundown.

Selective Fast

This type of fast involves removing certain elements from your diet. One example of a selective fast is the Daniel Fast, during which you remove meat, sweets, and bread from your diet and consume water and juice for fluids and fruits and vegetables for food.

Soul Fast

This fast is a great option if you do not have much experience fasting food, have health issues that prevent you from fasting food, or if you wish to refocus certain areas of your life that are out of balance. For example, you might choose to stop using social media or watching television for the duration of the fast and then carefully bring that element back into your life in healthy doses at the conclusion of the fast.

God speaks in the silence of the heart.
Listening is the beginning of prayer.

Prayer is simply talking to God like a friend and
should be the easiest thing we do each day.

Prayer is our first response,
not our last resort.
